Greetings, I live in Memphis, Tn. There are several public access lakes fairly close to my house that hold small bass and bream. However, these lakes also hold some monster grass carp that typically go nuts late in the day. Some say the beloved redfish is a glorified carp, and I absolutely love sight fishing for reds. Can anyone give me some tips on landing one of these grass carp. I am told Dave Whitlock wrote a book Flyfishing for Carp, but I was hoping to get some ideas without buying a book. Thanks.

Someone a while back posted a link to their carp fishing website... you might try a search for "carp". The results should be pretty conclusive.

This is a topic that's on my goals for this year. I haven't accomplished a carp on the fly yet, but the sight of a good sized fish always intrigues me. You are likely to find more info on carp fishing in general from Europe. A couple of web sights I've found are listed below.

I believe that this one is the sight that Juro refered to:

See http://www.stripersonline.com/ubb547/Forum3/HTML/001085.html and maybe post the same question in that thread. (thread is in the flyfishing forum and started by Bob Popovich)
