Beautiful job. I though that you said you had trouble casting a flyrod. Now I know what these will be used on a Spinning Rod.

Pete, is that an Extra Wide Gap (EWG) Gammi worm hook under there?

I got these at Rod Builders...The shape and gap lent itself to my fuzzy notion.
Now I'll have to look at the EWG Gammy:rolleyes: ...it never stops!

Pen, I use those hooks quite a bit for largemouth bass fishing (conventional), the Gammi EWG's are similar..but...here is the kicker...I believe that Gami is making a pre-weighted EWG now. Might want to look around for it (recent catalogue my wife threw away I am sure) on some of your retiree's time. Make a nice weighted herring:D

Nice looking flies!

Are the bottom two tube flies?

...are of the tube species...
They have two-tubes...one to wear fur n' feathers, the other has the junction tube thru which passes the leader...
I think that's MY IDEA but it's probably wishful thinking!

Someone showed me these when we got talking about weighted worm hooks for tying. Maybe very similar to the Gami's
mentioned.

Senior Pedro,
Are you putting body braid on the hooks? If so, what is the order of putting on the super hair, Is the body braid put on after the super hair or is it palmered after you put on a clump of each of the super hair?
Cheers,
DK
PS Spring has started out here, won't be long!

DK san...
I wrap the braid on the shaft then tie in tufts with mono over the braid...tedious and time consuming as I work my way up to the head, then do some epoxy...but good winter therapy, none the less.
In my travels I've bumped into Capt Charlie Lemieux...A great guy who enjoys the sport as much as anyone and sharing its' intricacies and simple joys...
He's got a fly with a similar look that's much easier and fun to tye...it's a DOOZIE! :eyecrazy:
We're going to compare notes at the upcoming Wilmington MA show and then I'll post some pics and the steps.
His design is quite brilliant and I'm putting together variations with lead wraps and/or rattles and/or whatever! :whoa:
Stand by for news...Film at eleven! :D
