I've been tying a bunch of bucktails lately. The black nose dace is the first one.

Hook: #2-10 3XL- 1XH, Orvis #1526 For landlocked salmon or fish that strike short use a longer shank hook.
Thread: black 6/0
Tag: Red Aunt lydias craft yarn
Body & Rib: Silver 2 stranded metallic floss, tied in at the eye and wound flat back to the bend then twist the 2 strands into 1 tight strand and wind back to the eye. Note: The classic recipee of this fly uses a flat tinsel with oval rib.
Wing: white bucktail topped by black bucktail then topped by brown bucktail. Equal amounts of white & black bucktail should be used and the amount of brown bucktail should be 1 1/2 to 2 times the amount of white bucktail used.
Eye: optional painted or stick on http://users.rcn.com/dsjrdns/2004flys/Blknosedace-web.jpg
