: Flyfishing Forum Holiday Card
12-18-2003, 10:05 AM
With Christmas being only a week away, I'd like to repeat something that we did last year. It was a thread here on the Forum that we used as a holiday card, where everyone who signs also lists their location. By listing your location, we can all see that this is truly a worldwide forum.
I'll start by wishing everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season...may you get satisfaction from being with loved ones, and if you can't be with loved ones, may the thoughts and memories of them keep you warm.

Just wanted to express my gratitude to our hosts for allowing me to utilize thier resources during my PMC fundraising, and generally for running this site. It's not easy handling the myriad of issues that come up when moderating, sysadmining, etc. - I know.
Also, as far as donations, you all might be interested to know (and should be proud) that ONE THIRD of my 80+ sponsors were from Fly Fishing websites! This includes the moderators/hosts - who have my special thanks for allowing me to use this incredible resource as a conduit to generate donations for The Jimmy Fund during training and fund raising! You all rock!
Also, MOST of my donations were generated over the web/email at very low cost to me. This helps everyone (97% of PMC donations go directly to The Jimmy Fund due to low overhead and on-line gifting) and is also why I was able to "splurge" on making this video "Thank You!"
Next year, the bar has been raised:
* 2004 Fundraising Goal: $17 Million
* 2-DAY RIDE (minimum): $2,750
* HEAVY HITTER PLATEAU: $5,500
But it doesn't matter to me with support like this, which makes it so much easier to concentrate on the riding! :)
All our best wishes for Health, Happiness and Tight Lines in 2004!

I would like to wish all my cyber fishing friends HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I have enjoyed visiting with everyone while we talk about some of our favorite things, fly fishing in general and spey rods and steelhead in particular.
I would like to say THANK YOU to all the "forum" members that have supported my shop. I have had a great season and I owe the "forum" staff and the members for a large part of that.

Merry Christmas from the Adirondacks!
Jim, Deb, Cait & Logan Miller... and Hobbs the Alaskan Malamute
It was an awesome year on the Cape, especially the Chatham area. Two months in the area has taught me a bunch about humility and thanks to Dennis (Rooster), John (Striblue), Keith Lincoln, and Juro, my learning curve has been straight up.
I'm counting the days until Mid-May to begin applying the techniques and subleties necessary for blindsiding cows on the flats.
This forum is sweeeet. It is the bencmark to emulate; but, would not be what is if it I didn't have the cadre of open, friendly and sharing flyfishermen.
Have a great 04!

Happy Holidays to all,
It's been a long and wonderful ride, I've met many great flyfishermen over the years, had some awsome days on the water, been to some places that most only dream of, I'm a lucky man.
I've always been a dreamer too but I never thought that as a skinny kid growing up in Prineville, Oregon in the 40's and 50's I'd be here and now!

To you all. Turn around and give someone you love a HUGE HUG.
That's what Christ's Mass Eve (and the whole darned year) is all about. Life is very, very short, love the ones you love. More better, love the ones you don't; they need it even more.
