Anyone out there have a good dry fly dessiccant recipe that they would be willing to share? I have been searching high and low, but have not found anything. Appreciate your help.

I have used the shimkaze stuff with good results. The other day a neighbor was glassing his boat and he had some polyester(?) filler dust from west systems. It was just like the desicant for flys.

Greg welcome to the forum,

A couple of years ago I pulverized the material in desicant package shipped with electronics and then carried it around in a film canister. It worked ok when I used it but often I forgot I had it and just changed the fly instead. If I did it again I wouldn't pulverize the material as much.

Nice country in the South Platte area. I hope to make it out there again.

Hands down the best product I have used is called Frog's Fanny - comes with a brush applicator - really great when you want to just treat the wings or cases such as for floating nymphs and CDC patterns (really freshens up waterlogged cdc)
