CND and Saltwater Edge will be hosting a Spey and two-handed fly casting event at Quonny Breachway (Quonochontaug, Rhode Island) Saturday Oct. 25th during the slack tide (2-4pm). Fish the South County's fall migratory blitzes in the AM and stop by the breachway in the afternoon for free lessons and try them out for yourself!
Demystify the spey casting hubbub with a free casting lesson - learn how to do it and why it's useful. Rods will be ready to try including the Atlantis beach flyrods.
Charge up for the evening bite with snacks and drinks (provided).
Don't miss a chance for a great day before the season ends!
Follow the signs to the breachway, then down to the boat launch at the end of the road. There is a long sandbar there where many people can wade out and there is plenty of room to cast. Typically fish push in with the flood in the evening so you might not even have to move to get into some fish!
Juro,
I assume this takes you out of the fishing equation on Saturday in South County??? Have not heard back from you so I am assuming?? that you will not be able to join me out on the boat? No problem I will still be up there fishing anyway. Hope the clinic goes well and you all catch many finned critters
i can't make the 2 hander event, but i'll be down there earlier in the day looking for my first ever albie ....
i've fished quonny breachway....can anyone give me any general directions to other breachways or popular spots ...
i'm not looking for secrets, i just wanna be able to move on if quonny is dead.....
anyone wanna meet up, carpool ?
i live north of boston in beverly.
I'll most likely be at Watch Hill light predawn. Tall guy, camo field jacket, carrying a fly rod and a surf rod [sorry Juro].
Unless they're blitzing at the lighthouse, I'll be hanging around Weakapoug/overlook/fire district beach later in the morning. If nothing's happening there, I'll most likely be somewhere in Weakapoug channel with my dip nets.
I'll be by Quonnie around 2:00 to check out the two handers. Might have to bring a special fly to cast.
Seuss,
I for one will give you and your family some quality silent time on the water in rememberance for the loved ones you have lost. The water is my church and I will be praying while fishing, my sincerest sympathies go out to you and your family. And there is no better tonic than time on the water to help put things in to a clear perspective. I hope you get out soon buddy and keep the faith things have got to be all up hill from here.
Patrice and I offer our sincerest condolences. You will be in our thoughts. Please give me a call if you want a partner when you do reach the shoreline or if you just want to get together for lunch.
sean, i'll be in touch to grab lunch or hit the water. preferably both
JB
