: Name suggestions for my boat

Hello all. Now that my first season with the boat is nearing a close, I came to the realization the other day that she still doesn't have a name. The former owner never named her, and after serving me so well throughout the season I'd like to give her a good moniker.

Key points: 16 foot aluminum hull bass boat with 40 hp outboard, electric motor on the bow, fishfinder, the whole works decked out for tournament bass fishing. However, I never fish with the pedastal seats in place so that a partner and I can have casting decks with plenty of room for flycasting. This boat has been used on ponds, lakes, rivers, estuaries, and salt ponds for all types of flyfishing.

I wouldn't be soliciting suggestions if I weren't drawing such a blank on this. I guess that I've used up my quota of creativity for the year.

Thanks for any input.

I thought about that, but Tom Dunlap already has that one and I don't wanna poach.

But I will keep it in my back pocket just in case...because I do like it.

I believe the tradition is to name it after your spouse.

Yeah, but my wife hates that tradition. Anne wants NO part of that.

I posted this a while ago, but it sums up my thoughts on boat names:
I have always been a little wary of goofy puns, testostirone laden handles, and tired re-treads. I think no name is better luck than a whack one.
Imagine compounding a mishap with a silly name like "Water Hazzard".
I remember putting on a clinic next to a fishless boat called "Striper King".
I guesse I'm no fun, but the sea is a seriouse place and I think that a respectful name is most appropriate.
You can't go wrong with the name of a loved one who waits patiently on land(perhapse in the widow's walk). I have not named my boat partly because I haven't come up with the right name, and partly because an 18', white, rolled edge skiff is hardly romantic. My old lady protests me naming it after her. "Patricia Marie" does have a nice ring to it. Maybe when I get a Buddy Davis sportfisher or a Concordia yawl.

It came down to two choices, and my wife (who tolerates my obsession) came up with as good a name as any. The double entendre fits the boat nicely.

Thanks to everyone for the brainstorming!
