Just went to look at the finished embroidery prior to the production run... the hats look AWESOME. There are four colors:
khaki w/ blue-green brim
sand w/ light olive brim
They should be ready tomorrow.
They were done by Chilly Bear. The advice they gave me led to the decision to use the simpler logo, once the stitching was done I could see why. It looks great. The URL is arched over the back opening.

Don't forget,Juro, I want two, probably the olive, and Khaki with olive brim. I will find you at the shows or let me know if I can get them at the Clave. Thanks again!

Are you taking orders or will you just be bringing them to the show?

PER THE QUESTIONS RE: THE NORTHEAST FLY SHOW...
I am not set up to sell anything at the fly show per se. As a not-for-profit organization (that will eventually become an official non-profit organization flyfishingforum.ORG) I don't want to get into the merchant thing.
Anyway, since we are a "club" (and more), I will be accepting memberships for those interested who come to the show and we will be offering these hats to those who sign up for memberships at the show, or for those who have already signed up, etc.
Northeast Fly show program raises a question: The current plan awards hats to silver and gold members. Would it be acceptable to do a show special at a donation level less than silver? I do not want people who signed up for silver already to regret this but on the other hand I suppose it's not about the hat anyway and the donation level is the same regardless for those members. Your thoughts are appreciated (this *IS* a democracy).
Hats will be shipped out to those who have signed up now that they are available. If you have an event where you could recruit members in your region, let me know and I will send out membership gifts to support the drive.
I've been reassurred that it's not about the hats, it's about building up the kitty for fly lines for writers and contributors, cool trinkets, and possibly a big trip giveaway every year for a lucky member. I agree.
The shows provide an opportunity to gain some ground on the winter fund raising drive so we can get on with the important business of spring fishing (when it finally arrives) without any delay.

If the hats are only available to members, anyone who joins at the regular member level should be able to buy one for a simple fee that allows for the cost of producing the hat and a little for the treasury. My .02.
To avoid confusion, we'll bring the hats and those who want to support the cause in a positive manner that offsets the costs and puts something "in the treasury" as Terry puts it will walk out with a swanky hat.
K.I.S.S, thanks for the feedback here, by email, and on the phone!
See you there.
