Recycling flies seems like a simple thing, and saving dumbell eyes would also... EXCEPT if you use epoxy... I found a small electric drill at Christmass tree shops for $12.00. with a number of bits. etc. It is a rechargeble mini drill and works well for breaking apart the epoxy with no damage to the eyes as well if you are carefull...Just FYI.
Epoxy will soften back to a liquid at somewhere around 200 225 degrees. Just put the flies in a throw away aluminum baking pan and put them in the oven for a while. You should be able to pick the hooks out of the pool of epoxy with tweezers (not your good ones). Just another way of doing it.
Thanks JD... good method..but I think, for me, my wife would go though the roof if I used the stove. But it certainly seems like a simpler method than the drill.
Do it while she is out of the house. It will not make a mess and she will never know. :hehe:
