Hello, I will be in Florida, in the Miami/Keys area, in early March. I will be limited to one flyfishing outfit and wanted advice on what to bring. Looking for roadside opportunities, size of fish does not matter. Looking for fun. Any suggestions?

The best that tme of year is redfish, which in the area you are going will be on average the same size as stripers 18-30" but you can have shots at 40"+ fish. I love reds. You will get a shot at them in less then a foot of water, cool fidh. They are the most beautiful bronze color. Get a guide,it will be 10X more fun if you let him do the work. If you want to do it your self you will target spanish and blues. Snook will also be around that time of year.
Bring an eight wt for the reds and snook, a nine is OK but over kill and a seven might be too small. Bring a standard assortment of flies but on the smaller side. from 4-1/0. My favority redfish fly is a spoon (gold, silver, blue), bring an asortment of shrimp and mullet flies as well.
