I needed a 2001 Calendar for work. At Walmart, I picked up a Calendar entitled "Gone Fishing" featuring the art work of Mark Susinno for $4.88. I just opened it up & boy was I impressed. There are two great Striper months (April & Oct.). On the fist one, the Striper is deciding between a juvie herring & a Fly. On the second one, a school of Stripers are attacking a school of menhaden. All of the works are tremendous, Bass, Trout, Pike, and so on. The detail to the flies, lures, baitfish, & environment are also awesome. I have been a big fan of Guy Harvey's Fish Art for many years, but I may have a new Favorite!

Mark Sussino's work has been chosen for license stamps and is among the top works if you ask me. Another artist who captures the essence of flyfishing is Dan Jacobus.

Great situation! Dan Jacobus feels the passion. If that print looks familiar, he made the cover of Hunter's Catalog a few years ago.

Some more fishing art...
My middle school art teacher, L. K. Hall, was a fishing fanatic and has done some beautiful work as well. Being my teacher and a neighborhood friend, I find his work amazing as well.

Grego,

Which Wlamart did you get that in? What department was it in? I was looking around the one in Chelmsford Monday and came up with zero. Grab me one if you can and I'll pay you at the tying clave. Thanks in advance.

SSully,

They were just at the end of an aisle (near office supply) at the Tewksbury Store. If I get over there I'll see if they have any more.

Dann Jacobus was at the Malboro show, he let me take this picture. There is a little flash-glare off the glass, but I think you can see the three NE Species with their respective flies. I really like his work!!
