Anybody know the good tides for Pavillion?

I've done best there on foot walking around to the Ipswich River mouth on the flood or if it's early there is a parking area on the river thru the private road. The tide comes in fast and furious. On occasion the fish come out of the Plum Island sound side on the ebb and the beach itself can be hot. The basin on the backside can be good on the top of the flood through slack high.

Just across is Sandy Pt. (PI refuge) and to the right is Crane's. You might do as well fishing Crane's at o'dark thirty. The parking pass to park outside the main gate and walk in (or ride a bike) is a few dollars from the town hall. You can fish it all the way to Wingaersheek/Annisquam inlet to the east if you have the energy.

It' probably a good yak spot but I'd play the tides carefully. Low wind and you'll be eating no-see-ums all day.

Good luck!

Muscle bed (left), and Little Neck Point (right) work best on the coming tide. The river mouth is best on the end of the drop or the early sages of the coming tide.

Best of luck.
