It's been awhile, but the weather finally cooperated and was able to once again hook a smallie. Spent Saturday and Sunday fishin them hard and ended up with about 25 smalles between us. Not a record by any means but hey I would have been happy with 1. We caught some decent sized fish too!!! I'll post some pics below.
Anyway Saturday morning started out with them hitting a Bumble Bee Popper pattern and the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday they were hitting #6 Olive Wooly Buggers. Only had a few in my box on Saturday and after losing a couple I went to the fly shop Saturday night and bought a couple dozen!!!
great job!! glad you finally got to the creek! fish look great!! big smallies here have "laid down" for whatever reason, but nice 13 inchers still being caught!!! did well sunday with a size 4 green/yellow frog popper. maybe summer is here to stay...( p.s......rianed here today!)
Is that George W in the second pic? Must have been an experience to fish with the president.
