I may be moving to the U.P. of Michigan and need some help finding info on the area. There seems to be an internet blackout for this area. Any websites or direct info would be helpfull

THANKS

Hoo boy!
The UP is an untapped wilderness brimming with fish, bears, wolves, etc. You will end up stumbling all over good fishing up there. There's the Big Two Hearted, immortalized by Hemingway (although many bleieve he was actually writing about a LP stream). The Fox river holds good numbers of brookies. Many/most of the streams running into the GL have runs of steelhead and/or coasters. The St. Mary's near the Soo has Salmonids running nearly year-around. Most of the lakes will have good pike populations. If you have the time sometime, go to Isle Royale National Park. It's a 4 hour boat ride from copper harbor on the keewenaw peninsula, and it's unreal. Pike everywhere, and I got an enormous laker while casting (hardware, sorry) from shore into Lake Superior in Mid-July. Just awesome. Enjoy it!
