Went to the upper stretch of the Croton River yesterday around 3pm. Fished until 5. Landed 15 Rainbows ( stockies ). Fun day. High water and good fishing.

Any activity below the dam yet?

I picked up my NYS licence and have applied for the NY City access permit so I'm looking forward to fishing the Croton Watershed this season.

Adrian,

I took th boat in the morning and fished fro trout in the afternoon. Tons of trout below the dam now. Easy pickins. Perhaps too easy for the worm dunkers. Hopefully they will not pound it too hard.

hi, I was jsut wondering where are the "quieter " spots to fish on the croton water shed area (With Wild trout if possible). I have fished around the bridge at brewster a few times and its normally well over crowded.

Also, in referance to the cynaide spill on I84 last week - is it having any effects on the water.. ie ..fish kills.. pllution

thnx
vinne

Vinnie - looks like the DEP/Hazchem guys did a good job of cleaning up the mess. There was a report of some fish killed - I asume in the still river in Danbury. Other than that there have been no negative reports.

I got my NYC Access permit yesterday - only posted the application last Monday - that's pretty fast!

A whole lot of water to fish and explore this season and all within 1 hour of home. In addition to trout, I read that Tiger Muskies ahve been stocked in the New Croton Reservoir this past five years or so and they are pushing 40 inches now.

Makes ya think .....:D
