FROM THE DESK OF THE BUG DOCTOR / OFFICE OF EMERGENCE - DEPARTMENT OF ARIEAL PRO-CREATION / N.W. QUAD

This is an Offical Alert for Ephemeroptera, or Mayflys. Brown Stream Mayflys have been observed in and around lower elivations of N.W. Oregon and S.W. Washington over the last 48 hours. ( April 19/20 ) These Rhithrogena have cocoa brown bodys and random blotched light to dark brown wings. They also have 2 tail fillaments and are aprox. 3/8 of an inch long. With some mountain streams opening here in the next week, this might be a good bet for nymph and fly portage to your favorite spot! Please refer to my article under Top Stories for more info.
In conclusion, all "artifical" sightings, such as don-amichi belles, patch adams, etc should be forwarded to Bob K., as he an some associates are painstakingly putting together a list of such observations. The Bug Doctor will keep up to date of these and comment as waranted.
This ends this Mayfly Alert

I will be glad to handle any and all spottings of "fraudator" flies. These bugs try to mask their "true" identity, and pass themselves off as real mayflies, even though they are obvious fakes.

These guys are so audacious, that sometimes they sometimes even fool the fish! But their true fakery is evident to the observant flyfisher, whose brain is much larger than the brain of the trout he is after. (Twice as big, at least!)

BobK:rolleyes:
