: Cape Spring Kickoff Update

Sorry folks, been preoccupied with family matters.

Looks like the weekend of the May 3rd works for most.

I would think we would focus our fishing on southside estuaries, primarily in the mid Cape area, such as Bass River, Herring River, Parker, etc. Pleasant bay or areas futhur west such as Cotuit, Waqoit are other possibilities. Kayaks would work well so bringum if you got um. I have an extra yak. I am personally going to focus on waters in my backyard at the top of the Bass River at least one day. Thinking about drifting down stream with the early am outgoing then drifting backup to fish the ponds in the afternoon at the top of the tide. We'll be looking for insight on strategy from Juro the Guru, probably offline. Send me your e'mail address if you havn't already.

Lodging: I have beds and couches for about 9 or 10. I believe Pete can put up a couple at Area 61 and the CAC may be open for one night. I'll be down from Friday night til Sunday - might even make the commute Monday am.

So far the list of probables or possibles include:
DocDuprey (need e'mail address)
Jimmy (need e'mail address)
seuss (need e'mail address)

Bridge street might be real hot for small schoolies and a chance to try all those small flys you tied this winter... lots of fun when they hit..30 or 40 at a whack and you keep trying different flies..lots of fun there. Also.. do you want me to reserve the back room at the Squire for a dinner Saturday night.

Squires sounds good. Can we wait a week and see what kind of plans firm up? By the way, didn't get your e'mail, suspect you sent it to my work address. Been out since Tuesday.

Oh ..Ok.. I hope you will give your wife my personnal reGards and sympathies... I will wait and contact Squires later..but it might be fun If Juro can bring his projector . They would allow us he use of the entire back room.. which would be nice.

Squire sounds great if it works out! Fred, if no one has taken you up on the yak, I'd be ever so greatfull, and I would like to bunk if there is room on Saturday night, either your place, Pete's or Johns, I'm not picky, If it gets tight I can limp back to Falmouth, it's not that far provided we go easy on the P.O.

I just found out that that's the CCA North Shore Banquet night...
Stocking the Ipswich River with herring and other baitfish in the morning, and the banquet / silent auction is at 4pm...
Sorry to bail....but CCA needs all the help they can get with these new bass regs. being passed .....

Have a great time !!

I will reserve the back room at the Squire... there is no additional cost ... if you have a large group we just have dinner... again.. I will ask Juro to bring his prijector and I will take picture during the day also... it should be fun ... I will need to do this in about a wek I think so let me know if people don't want to do that... It's a good way to eat .. relax and head out after if we want..

Put me down as a "hopeful" maybe. The pike clave is the prior weekend and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do 2 weekends in a row.

If I read this right we all owe you a congrats and thanks for serving the home country again. I know you can't share details but when this is all said and done please let us take you out to dinner at the 99's - who knows, it's been said that some hardbody waitress in Hyannis is a sucker for a man in uniform!

Keep us informed to the extent you can, buddy.
