Speybum, aka Aaron Reimer of River Run Anglers (one of our Board Sponc.) just sent me a selection of his goodies done on single hooks, doubles and Waddington's.

THEY ARE BEAUTIFULLLLLLLLL! Truely look good enough for MEto eat.:D

Aaron, once the Rogue calms down (they're dumping water like there was no tomorrow right now!) these will get a serious work out. If the NateMeister and the BobMeister 'play their cards right' I might even consider sharing.

Gotta get over to his site and so some serious review all of his fly selection; these are all very top end stuff.:smokin:

RRA web site, if you don't already have it posted as a fav. place is

Aaron does twist a nice fly, but I believe those patterns on display are by Brian Styskal. Simply beautiful flies!

Fred,
It is just a simple way that I can thank you for all the good you do for this board and The Speycasters.

I had Brian Styskal dress the AUTUMN ON THE SPEY for my collection he also donated the Large doulbes for your bugs.

Hope to see you in May.

Aaron

Joan and I were talking about that just before I logged in to see what's new.

Will be 'perusing' (sp?) your web site in a couple of minutes. And, again and again, many thanks for the flys. They are out of this world; truely world class tying. Are these the same as you sell in your shop in Carnation, WA?

I can attest to Aaron's expertise with the woven fly. He is also one hell of a great guy.

A real straight shooter and no B.S. person when you deal with him.

He makes buying spey gear nice and easy, the way it should be.

Another plug for Aaron and River Run Anglers. The shop is located on the main drag in Carnation, about 4 blocks from the Snoqualmie River right where the Tolt comes in.

He runs the shop just like a continuous mini-clave with an assortment of rods and lines on the rack. You can test drive dozens of combinations in the grass behind the store or on flowing water. How nice is that! Hell, there's a real chance that you could catch a fish while trying out a new rod.

Couldn't agree more; just got off the phone ordering up some goodies and ready to give him the 'card number.' "Na, we'll take care of that later."

Have him fooled ... he thinks I pay my bills on time.

Don't tell me that he was kind enough to trust a banker! Hasn't he seen the recent ads for DiTech on TV? Poor guy would probably trust lawyers (e.g. Hal) and politicians, too! Hey, Hal - here's your chance to get the rod, if you act quickly!
He will learn!:hehe: :hehe:

He is as honest as they come and therefore expects others to be honest.

Aaron will work with you to find the right combination of rod, line and reel to fit you casting style and ability. If you have a rod that doesn't feel right, take it to Carnation and try line on the river until you find the right combination for you. Aaron is very good at matching angler, rod and line.

When you go to Aarons shop, take a clear mind because he will fill it up with ideas and information.

Then he'd fit right in with the 'farming community' here in our area. Was a wonderful revilation when Joan and I were building our Vineyards.

Same applied with suppliers, etc. Once you had the 'rep,' I found I actually had to call guys I owed thousands to to get them to send me a bill, so I could send them a check. Frequently the "contract" was oral and a handshake.

Maybe I'm just an "old school guy," but nothing (then or now) sounded better on the phone than: "I know your good for it."

And I agree, "A man is only as good as his word".:D

Times were much better when we did things with a handshake.
