In sequence of tying:

Sparce, light brown Unique Hair tied sparesly at bend of hook downward to form a beard.

Tie-in mono eyes to protrude just behind bend of hook. Wrap along shank of hook for rigdity.

Tie-in by butt, ginger hackle at bend of hook.

Tie-in several strands of flashabou or other accent material along shank hook, just past hook eye

Tie-in a pencil diameter of light brown Unique Hair along shank of hook, protruding past hook eye and past hook bend. This tie is just behind hook eye. Trim this material to form a pointed head. Trim material just in front of the hook eye to form the tail.

Coat the top of the Unique Hair with 5-minute epoxy to form the carapace and head of the fly. Apply a second coat to smooth the carapace, if desired.

This pattern can be tied in hook sizes 4 - 1/0 and in other subdued colors, e.g. lt green, off-white.

Palmer ginger hackle just behind eye of hook.

Palmer ginger hackle to just in front of hook eye should be inserted after applying accent to the body and prior to applying the pencil-diamter body material.
